Gossen Colormaster 3F Light Meter

The Gossen Colormaster 3F measures the color temperature of both ambient and flash light. It indicates the appropriate light balancing filter or color correction filter needed to get the most accurate photographic reproduction of a scene. This color meter allows the photographer to preselect the color temperature of the film being used in either standard types or intermediate values. The preset values are continuously displayed on the Colormaster 3F's large, easy to read screen.

The Colormaster 3F's ability to measure various sources of light accurately make it great for use either in the studio or outside. It easily measures daylight, fluorescent tubes, incandescent or halogen light precisely so that the subtle differences in color temperature can be analyzed. The meter also allows the photographer to preselect sync speeds for flash light from in all speeds 1/500 to 1/2 of a second. The meter will even measure sync speeds at 1/90 of a second! The Colormaster will display flash power using Lux/seconds and the intensity of ambient light in Lux.

The color meter has an automatic shut off after two minutes of inactivity. But don't worry, it will store all presets and readings taken in its memory after shut off. So that you can be sure that the meter won't out of power in the middle of a shoot, it has an automatic battery check that displays the power remaining, so you'll always know when you need to bring an extra 9V battery along.

The Colormaster 3F comes with a second diffuser. The second diffuser extends the range of measurements the Colormaster is able to take for both strong continuous ambient light and powerful flash. With the diffuser, the meter is able to measure up to 190,000 Lux and 280,000 Lux/seconds.
